Aims of the club are:
" To encourage and help members to become conversant with computers."
" To encourage members to improve their standards of computing. "
"To help members to use their
computer to their advantage "
Our Club was formed in 2001 for Seniors in our area who have a working knowledge or interest in computing. We tend to rely on our member's computer experience to solve any problems that other member may have. We regularly invite speakers from outside the club to talk on subjects such as genealogy, Skype, Facebook, photo editing and many more subjects. We also encourage our members to tell us of their own expertise with a new program or operating system.
Our meetings are fairly informal, a session of problem solving
is followed by a 20 minute break for the all important morning tea when
members can socialise. After morning tea there is usually a talk given
by a guest speaker or a club member.
The computer club is a member of ASCCA
(Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association) who publish a monthly newsletter which keeps us in touch with other similar clubs. They also hold an annual convention which is a chance to meet members from other clubs and update with the latest technology and programmes.
Our monthly newsletter "Downloader" is compiled and edited by Eti one of our members . This always contains informative and entertaining articles from members and other scources. Click on the club logo below to read the latest version.
